Christmas 2013

Since this is the last Follow Four Friday of 2013 AND the first one after Christmas 2013, I thought I would share a few last Christmas pictures with you – for this year. Some were taken with my iPhone, some are SOOC of my DSLR and some I processed in Lightroom and Photoshop. We had a very, very quiet Christmas this year, just like we wanted and needed it. I may have said it before, but being far away from your family definitely has it’s ups and downs. Obviously I would love to see them more often, but it just takes forever to travel. No matter if going to Germany or to the West Coast. And because it is such a hassle (and sometimes joy) to travel, it is not always expected either. So, maybe next year. Christmas 2013 meant for us both to work till the 23rd and since then we have been enjoying our home.

We spent many hours on our couch in front of the fire place either watching a movie or playing a computer game. All the while admiring our beautiful Christmas tree. For the first time since we’ve been together, a tree with no real candles, but I got new lights and glass ornaments, so it was all in blue and silver. And can I just say – I looooove these tiny LED lights. They are not the regular electric lights on a green string, but they look like light drops on a wire. Very hard to see and if you do, you might think it is part of the decoration. Well, o.k. it is, but… they come in the usual colors including warm white or, like ours, cool white matching the blue and silver. Did I mention that I love them?! Hahaha – I think I drove David a little crazy repeatedly saying how much I love our tree this year. Scroll down and you will see a few impressions and then tell me what you think about our tree? And the lights?

And now to the regular feature of Friday Four Fill ins ~ here is from Hilary’s blog:

Okay, you know the deal – Each week, I list four statements with a blank for you to fill in on your own blogs. If you want to join the fun and come up with four fill in’s of your own, please email them to me  .

If I use them, I will add you as co-host to the hop! This week’s co-host is PAM from TROUPPETRIE she who came up with the last two statements.

This week’s statements: feelingbeachiebutton 200x200

1) Every time I hear Hey there Delilah I think of dancing Foxtrott with David in Mannheim 🙂

2) Sometimes I feel like I forgot how to hand-write because I type everything.

3) So if there was one New Years resolution you could make it would be ____ because you know you can keep it. Sorry, no New Year’s resolution(s) from me, because if I see the need to and want to change something I will do it or at least try to do it whenever, but not because it is a new year.

4)  If I could have any pet it would be a zoo with horses, dogs and cats and I would live my life happily ever after with them. Well, at least if I did get a worker along with the wish, keeping care of some of the not so fun chores of having animals – hahaha – so, like that’s ever going to happen, right?!

  1. I have never seen light strings like those. Pretty cool and I can think of lots of uses for them too! You tree was lovely and I am glad you guys got to have some quiet time. We all need that. I ended up taking a nap-a-thon on Christmas afternoon. Did not wake up until 11 that night! LOL Happy New Year to both of you and I hope 2014 brings you both riches both seen and unseen. 🙂

    • I’m sure you’d like them and find some great creative use for them. The wires are bendable so that you can form them into lots of stuff. If you want to I can send you a link. Thanks, Debbi – same to you!

  2. I’ve told you before that I love your tree and I do love those lights. We have a pre-lit tree but next year I may have to give in and get a real one again. If that’s the case I’m going to look for those lights… I’d love to live on a farm and have a ton of different animals!!! 🙂
