4th week of November’s Art Every Day and also in NaBloPoMo

November 22nd

Today is day #22 of AEDM and NaBloPoMo aaaand for the first in months I am going to join RoryBore in her Coffee Chat. Fitting, because it is (already!) 7 am and I am sipping my freshly brewed coffee.

Here’s Leslie’s prompt for today: You can take these November chats to update about your personal task for the month, or;   share a Currently post:  what you’re reading, listening, watching, eating, wearing, etc. Today: Update your challenge.  Or in honour of American Thanksgiving, tell us what you’re thankful for right now.

So, you all know by now that the challenge I set myself this month is to create art every day and to post an article each day, too. Newsflash: I am doing good on the posting daily, at least so far. I did come close to not posting a couple of times, but I made it.

As for the creating art daily – that is not going all that well. There are several reasons and the biggest one is the omnipresent problem most of us are facing. Time. Between fulltime work and household chores, there is not a lot of it left on a daily basis.

I am thankful *wink* 2nd part of Leslie’s prompt *wink* and lucky though that David is helping quite a bit at home these days, and thus freeing up time for me to write, create and work out. Yes, let’s not forget that one. Regularly working out can be a challenge, too. I am not even trying to stick to a daily regimen, but three to four times a week – that’s more like me.

There are a lot of other things I am grateful for starting with the obvious, having a warm house and food, health (mostly), a job and medical insurance (at least for now, the issue has still not been solved…), and also family and friends, near and far, real and virtual.

I am thankful that I can sit here this morning and type this blogpost to connect with other people.

And before I get all sappy, I’ll better wrap this up and start thinking about getting to work so I will keep my job and all the other things I mentioned, too.

Have a wonderful Tuesday. It has been great chatting with you over a cup of coffee this morning 🙂

p.s. through AEDM I have connected with Elizabeth & Bleubeard of Altered Book Lover and they are hosting a wonderful Tuesday linkup all around ‘something drinkable’ – fun!Cheers,

If I have time I will be linking with one or more of the fine people in this collection – check them out!

  2. That coffee picture was fun!! It is difficult to make time for art…for the fun… and doing it every day…? I don’t know how i would make that work.. but as long as i make the effort to do it as often as possible… guess i have to be happy with that. Happy happy Tday! Hugs! deb

  3. It’s starting to get to me, too. I know what you mean by no time, and my most time is spent helping my neighbor. My home and all other responsibilities have gone by the wayside. I don’t have a wonderful David to help, only two cats that require some attention, etc.

I really enjoyed your coffee art today. It was really fun. Thanks for taking time to share. And because I know this holiday is relatively new to you, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thanks for posting your coffee art for us at T this Tuesday.

  4. I basically gave up on posting daily. Not sure what I was thinking to begin with. I have way too much going on and don’t need the added stress of posting daily… I’m glad you are managing to keep up with it. Love all the coffee creations/pics. Such a great idea.

  5. Yes, we have so many tings to be thankful for. It is good to focus on that every now and then.
It’s great that you set yourself challenges, but don’t feel bad if you can’t keep up. Life is too short and sometimes there are other things more important.
I love your coffee photo art. Brilliant!
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,

  6. Oh my those coffee photos are awesome!!! why did I not think of that! Spelling with coffee beans – what is more perfect for a tired writer? ha. I do have French Press though – I will have to incorporate that into my photography sessions. That’s the hardest part I am finding about this challenge — coming up with ideas of WHAT to shoot. How many ways can you shoot a coffee cup? Probably hundreds, but I sure can’t think of them all. LOL

  7. Claudia, the project I’ve taken on is still in its infancy stage. I have the supplies in hand now I need to get on the stick and pull it altogether. Surely, I can tell you what it is without risking someone finding out? In time I will reveal it on my blog but until it’s done then I can’t for fear said someone might be reading my posts. Ok, I’ll let the Cathy out of the bag. I’m making old-fashion Christmas stockings for DD#2 and her husband. She asked me last year to do this but was unable to find all of the right things to do the job until now. Years ago when our daughters were very small I made us vintage style stockings to hang on the mantle with our names cross-stitched on each, then after DS was born I made his. Placing these beautifully handmade stockings out each year has always been a special thing to do and I’m delighted DD#2 wants to include this in her traditions. At least you can report on your progress and you’re sticking with it. Way to go, girl! I hope you and your hubby have a peaceful Thanksgiving celebration in the quietness of your own home. God bless., my friend!

    • Your project sounds just wonderful, Cathy! As modern as I am, I do love a good tradition. I bet DD#2 and family will absolutely love them. And I hope to get a glimpse on how you make or made them through your blog. Thanks for sharing this secret with me!

  8. Wow…love your photography! Fun images of coffee…my favorite morning beverage! Glad you joined us for T Tuesday over at Elizabeth’s. Yes, I totally agree with the issue of Time. But sounds like your priorities are quite reasonable. Most people leave out the “work-out time.” And it’s so important. Blessings to you for Thanksgiving…have a happy and cozy day with your family and friends!
