Flames for sARTurday

Welcome to my s~A(R)T~urday linky party – today: Flames

“When I say artist I mean the one who is building things … some with a brush – some with a shovel – some choose a pen.”
~ Jackson Pollock ~

It has been another ‘short’ week of sorts. Short on time due to … well, let’s see.

Monday – normal day i.e. getting up too early, working all day at the office, coming home, working out, make dinner, have dinner, watch something and go to bed.

Tuesday – see Monday except no work out, but frizz appointment = no time to create

Wednesday – see previous day, but had dinner with a friend at Shanghai Jazz, an Asian restaurant with live jazz music every night – very cool!

Thursday – yep, previous day + Holiday Party! At a local restaurant, had good company, good food and too much to drink and got home way too late to go to work the next day, but…

Friday – get up too early after a party, but survived the day. Barely. Alas, last night’s creativity did not happen since I was too tired and after work out, a hot bath and dinner, I fell into bed at 9:30 🙂

So, finally this morning I got up normal time and did not get lost in the interwebs, but did something I haven’t done in a while: I played with Photoshop. I am not sure yet if I like what I have created, but – I need to get back into the groove of creating. And as such, you simply have to create.

Be it for five minutes or for five hours, love it or hate it, but create something.

Trust me, I will be creating more this weekend. David and I have also continued working on our computer game (latest update here) and sometime this weekend we are going to create a small video to show you some gameplay motion to give you a better idea. Because, static pictures just don’t do the game justice.

But first – kicking D. out of bed, then breakfast, followed by – bike riding in New Jersey, in December. Most likely in shorts, because it is going to be in the 60s °F today and in the 70s °F tomorrow (18° – 22° C) – wow!

I hope you will enjoy your weekend.

Why don’t you join me along my journey and follow me on fbgo and tw if you prefer and see what I come up with next. You can, of course, also subscribe by email – (click) here or you may follow my blog with Bloglovin or my preferred reader Feedly.

I hope that over time we will be building a community dedicated to art and creating. I rather like these words said by Andy Warhol:

Don’t think about making art, just get it done.

Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it.

While they are deciding, make even more art.”

Drop me a comment and you’ll make me smile!

    • Many thanks, liebe Pippa. Freut mich, daß Dir die Verpackung und das Bild gefallen. An der Verpackung arbeit ich noch ein wenig, aber grundsätzlich bin ich damit recht zufrieden.

  1. This looks very spiritual to me. Do you know the word “Kundalini”? That was my immediate reaction upon seeing this. I really like it. Have fun bike riding today! We will have temps in the 70s!

    • I didn’t know the term, Debbi, but now that I read up on it, I can definitely see it. Thanks for this bit of enlightenment. Now that I look at the picture after hours, I am actually starting to like it.
The bike ride was fantastic! Gorgeous!

  2. This immediately made me think of the flames of inner desire. These flames can even be the unquenchable flames of creativity. I like this very much, Claudia. Your art speaks to me, and this one truly speaks loudly. Thank you.

I have linked a Christmas story that I shared in the past. I hope you like it. Hugs.

    • Oh, how I wish that ‘my flames of creativity’ are unquenchable. This week they truly were not, but – hey, there is that other life, too. It makes me happy that you like it, Annie. I may have mentioned it before, if any of my art work ever inspires you to write some of your poetry or fits an older piece that you’d like to publish, please let me know. I’d be very happy if you were using my art.

  3. I love the book pages in the background – like acquiring knowledge sets us on fire or creates a fire or something like that (suffering from being out too late for a holiday party myself)

Thanks for Sharing with us at Photo Friday! (like the redesign by the way!)

    • Thanks for the note on the re-design. I really liked my old one, but it seemed so slow. Hopefully this is better.
The pages – hah, that is one of my National Geographic CitraSolv experiments. I have a few more that I will incorporate eventually in some photo art.

  4. Sorry I am just getting to comment today — we had my hubby’s Christmas work party Saturday night so I had to do a Link and Dash! LOL
I was playing on Photoshop this week too in order to finish the Children’s Christmas presentation for church this morning — it is so nice to get back to creative things. I like the flames – it’s very dramatic image. Like something exploding right out of the earth; terrifying and beautiful. Let’s hope now for slower days now for both of us starting this week! 🙂

    • No worries, I know that you want drop a link and just vanish. Yes, I hope for a bit more time, actually, a lot more time to create things over the next couple of weeks or so. We’ll see if it is going to happen or not…

    • Yeah, I totally get it. I have had my ups and downs and – honestly, right I am trying to find my tribe here in blogland and then, maybe, take it from there and find my balance between real life creating, art and blogging about it. Some bloggers I felt connected but somehow lost a bit of touch, like you, but then we were working on our little video game and I instantly thought of you 🙂 I hope we’ll stay in touch.

    • Thanks! Really, you like Shanghai Jazz? For the food or the music? Or for both? Hahaha – amazingly I really love both. I never, and still to some point, do not like jazz. At all. But there, live – that is something different.
