“On Wednesdays all over the internet, bloggers post a photograph with no words to explain it on their blog. Hence the ‘wordless wednesday’ title. The idea is that the photo itself says so much that it does not need any description.”

This looks scary! I hope everyones okay. #WW

  • Clairejustine

I was thinking same as above, hope everyone is ok ? #WW

Anytime I see a swelling river, a sense of panic rises in me. When I was 14, our small WV community was hit by a flash flood. Thankfully, our home wasn’t damaged much other than a lot of mud and mold, but watching the rush of that water push itself into our neighbors yard was very unsettling. Unfortunately many people weren’t as fortunate as us ~ homes swept away or destroyed, roads washed out, …the damage was unbelievable. WV was declared a disaster area after the 1977 flood. Great capture & I love the image in B&W! Happy WW!!

    • Claudia Willison

OMG – a flash flood must be so scary… I can totally understand, Cathy. But in this case here, no worries, everyone – as far as I know – was o.k.

  • Erika Price

Gosh, hope the damage wasn’t too serious and that no-one was hurt x

  • Tiffany

What an amazing capture…I love the mystery the B&W adds…

    • Claudia Willison

I am right there with you Tiffany. I just love b&w, but since you have visited my site a couple of times now, you probably know 🙂

  • Tamara

Gorgeous shot.. of a place I know so well. I hope it isn’t so flooded anymore!

    • Claudia Willison

Of course you do, Tamara 🙂 It must be so strange to see all these places you called (almost) home and that are not anymore. I know how I feel every time I go back to my German home town – feels slightly weird. Familiar, yet not belonging there anymore…
Nope, no flood at the moment.

  • Kathy

    Wow! That’s crazy!

  • Mary Denman

You really caught the movement of the rushing water with this shot. The tree in the water catches your eye. Great composition. Also hoping it didn’t do damage to homes or people.

Thanks for adding my button! I have to figure out how to make all mine the same size! 🙂

    • Claudia Willison

All iPhone shots, Mary, like all my Instagram photos. I refuse to post DSLR photos on there like so many other photogs.
I don’t think that time did any damage.
Of course, I added your button, Mary, gladly!
To resize all buttons on your site is pretty simple: In your blogpost go from ‘compose’ into ‘html’ and then find the image code, which looks something like this: img border=”0″ src=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wLy9ZZ0wxZg/UgjJJU8AXGI/AAAAAAAAG4g/pvoUoHFEivs/s1600/IMG_1699.jpg” height=”150″ width=”200″ /> And there you have it – height and width are the size in pixels 🙂 Shoot me an email if you run into issues.

  • Star Traci

Wow! Beautiful and a little scary.
