“On Wednesdays all over the internet, bloggers post a photograph with no words to explain it on their blog. Hence the ‘wordless wednesday’ title. The idea is that the photo itself says so much that it does not need any description.”

  1. Anytime I see a swelling river, a sense of panic rises in me. When I was 14, our small WV community was hit by a flash flood. Thankfully, our home wasn’t damaged much other than a lot of mud and mold, but watching the rush of that water push itself into our neighbors yard was very unsettling. Unfortunately many people weren’t as fortunate as us ~ homes swept away or destroyed, roads washed out, …the damage was unbelievable. WV was declared a disaster area after the 1977 flood. Great capture & I love the image in B&W! Happy WW!!

    • Of course you do, Tamara 🙂 It must be so strange to see all these places you called (almost) home and that are not anymore. I know how I feel every time I go back to my German home town – feels slightly weird. Familiar, yet not belonging there anymore…
Nope, no flood at the moment.

  2. You really caught the movement of the rushing water with this shot. The tree in the water catches your eye. Great composition. Also hoping it didn’t do damage to homes or people.

Thanks for adding my button! I have to figure out how to make all mine the same size! 🙂

    • All iPhone shots, Mary, like all my Instagram photos. I refuse to post DSLR photos on there like so many other photogs.
I don’t think that time did any damage.
Of course, I added your button, Mary, gladly!
To resize all buttons on your site is pretty simple: In your blogpost go from ‘compose’ into ‘html’ and then find the image code, which looks something like this: img border=”0″ src=”http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wLy9ZZ0wxZg/UgjJJU8AXGI/AAAAAAAAG4g/pvoUoHFEivs/s1600/IMG_1699.jpg” height=”150″ width=”200″ /> And there you have it – height and width are the size in pixels 🙂 Shoot me an email if you run into issues.
