Trees are in full bloom right now!

Welcome to the weekend. Welcome to Saturday art link up!

“The artist and the photographer seek the mysteries and the adventure of experience in nature.”

Ansel Adams

My apologies for being a little late this weekend with my art linkup. Last week has been good as far as the healing of my foot goes, but this healing is now taking a little more of my time as I have finally started physical therapy. I never had pt and I may not have been convinced I needed it, but now I am. I tell you my foot is so freakin’ stiff it needs all the help there is to get back to normal. But it will; get the help and get back to 100 %. I have already started putting weight on the foot and since yesterday I am experimenting using only one crutch for a little support. My goal is to have no crutches by the end of next week. Well, maybe the week after, we will see.

In any case, pt is now three times a week and with getting there and back and the pt itself I am easily two to two and half hours busy with nothing else. Which, of course, eats into my time I’d rather spend creating. Yesterday late I have started a new painting, but it is not finished. Plus I am not sure I want to put a nude painting on my blog, but maybe I will in a later post.

For now I will resort to photos I took this morning, my first morning walk around the block in a long time. Which I could not resist after seeing all the beautiful trees around here in full bloom. It is a beautiful morning here in New Jersey. Quite chilly, which makes the sun feel very nice and warm. The photos below are three original sized ones and then each a crop to show you the fine details. They are not perfect because 1) I could not bring a tripod as for now carrying a camera is enough and 2) balancing a macro lens standing on 1.2 feet is rather shaky. But I think these still show you what a fine artist mother nature is. (Please click on them to see them larger, especially the smaller ones in the gallery.)

I also wanted to thank you for your kind words on my more poetic endeavors for last week’s s~A(R)T~urday. It really means a lot to me. You know, I am feeling rather inadequate with words, so I did not mention that both the watercolor painting and the words were mine. My heartfelt thanks to those of you who so kindly expressed they liked them.

And a big thanks to everyone for joining me here each Saturday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I hope that over time we will be building a community dedicated to art and creating. My personal medium is photography and photo art, but I do not want to put a limit on my art link up. Thus I encourage you to join me, no matter which your art form is.

Please do not be intimidated that I am calling this an art link up. I want you to share your creations. Art is completely subjective. It takes courage and time to realize that you may actually call your own creations art. If you believe they are pieces of art, I believe they are. They may be good or bad or great – who am I to say?! I’d rather like to think along these words from Andy Warhol:

Don’t think about making art, just get it done.

Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it.

While they are deciding, make even more art.”

Why don’t you join me along my journey and follow me on fbgo and tw if you prefer and see what I come up with next. You can, of course, also subscribe by email – (click) here or you may follow my blog with Bloglovin or my preferred reader Feedly.

Drop me a comment and you’ll make me smile!

  1. Beautiful. I so enjoy photographing blossoms – in any stage really but love when they are in full bloom. The magnolia trees all over our campus are in bloom right now. I hope to take a few shots next week if I remember to pack my camera, otherwise the phone will have to do. 🙂

    • You and me both. You cannot believe how I have been itching to get outside with a camera. Seriously. Sadly I will probably miss the magnolia as they are already a little past full bloom and I am not sure when I will get a ride closer to one
I am sure you will get great shots with your iPhone, too. In fact I have got a few good ones from this morning taken with my iPhone as well, but I did not post them yet.

  2. Wonderful news that you are walking. I am sure your spirits are much better now that you have been able to get out and about. Your pictures are beautiful and so vivid. While fall is my favorite season, spring is a close second. Keep up with that PT and you will be fine in no time! 🙂

    • I sure am, Debbi, although I suspect I still have a long way to go. Today I am feeling the spring in the bad way – allergies. Funny thing is, today’s pollen is low because it has rained. Apparently I am a little ‘opposite’ 😀

    • Exactly, Ruth Anne. Usually I would be out and about a lot, either on foot or with my bicycle. But unfortunately my (broken) foot is limiting me quite a bit this year. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Wunderbare Fotos!

  4. Flowers!!! Yay!
they are beautiful, and I love love the light shining through the leaves. you can see so much detail in the leaf – amazing.
I had a date day on Saturday to see Avengers Age of Ultron of course!! 🙂
and then a birthday sleepover for my daughter so I didn’t have any time to create. I have something that I am working on… just a few more touches and hopefully it will be ready for the next one. If not photography, I do have a story 🙂

    • Yes, flowers galore! Finally I am getting to shoot some 🙂
Of course, you had to see the Avengers, what else is a fan girl to do, right? No worries, I hope you’ll be able to link up next Saturday, photo or story or both!

  5. I love the colors of spring! Nice collage. I’m glad you started PT. DH broke his ankle about 20 years ago and I remember what an ordeal this was for him, so I sympathize with you, Claudia. I hope you’re able to get away from the crutches soon. I don’t know how anyone can get use to those things. Thanks for visiting. I nearly forgot to link up. Have an artistic week! On a personal note, I don’t have a problem with nudity as long as it is in good form. Whenever you feel up to sharing your painting, then just give folks a fore warning and don’t sweat it. There will always be someone who doesn’t approve.

    • Thank you, Cathy. Yes, in that case you really can relate. Crutches are very necessary, but also pretty much a pain you-know-where. I am actually starting to walk around with no crutches, although I may have done too much yesterday, because the foot is hurting a bit today. Oh well, patience – it will get better.
Thanks for the heads up on posting nude art, Cathy. Depending on how it turns out in the end, I may post it. I really have not decided yet. And you’re right: There is always going to be someone, somewhere who will take offence. But that’s o.k. Art is not supposed to please everyone, at the same time.

  6. I love the gorgeousness of May, but I never feel like I photograph it at all. At least, not the flowers. I do have a macro right now so maybe I can have some fun while I’m borrowing!
I’ve never had PT but I hope it’s very effective and fast!

    • That doesn’t surprise me, Tamara. You preferred photo subjects are (mostly) a people. No need for you to take photos of flowers. Well, I guess there is no ‘need’ for me either, but I do enjoy it. Especially with a macro lens to get the finer details. You should try it out with that macro lens.
Well, PT is very necessary, so I am happy I am able to utilize it. But, of course, I’d prefer it if I didn’t have to go in the first place. It takes so much time, actually 2 hours PT itself, each time, 3 times a week plus getting there and back with Uber as hubby is working and I cannot drive yet – talk about hassle!

  7. What a beautiful collection of blooms! I just found your blog via Pierced Wonderings, but I already like it! So much to see. 😀 I’ll have to join you guys with this link up next week!

  8. These are beautiful! I’m glad that you have been able to get out and get to taking some photos – enjoying the beauty that is spring! I’d never had PT until after my car accident in February. My shoulder is sill a painful, but I have the range of motion back. According to my mom, it may always been painful. *sigh*

thank you for joining us again this week!

    • Thank you, Jen. It really is such a big step forward in the healing cycle to be able to go, at least a little bit, about my own ways.
I really hope that your shoulder does heal and your mom is wrong on this account.
