Bonaire sunrise

Welcome to my s~A(R)T~urday linky party – today:  Bonaire Sunrise

“Art attracts us only by what it reveals of our most secret self.” ~Jean-Luc Godard ~

I am late! I am so darn’ late to my own linkup, a whole day (at least), but – you know what? I AM HERE. And if you still feel like it, please link up your creations below. I promise I’ll be back on schedule again – now!

Last night we got back from a much needed vacation at our happy place, the Caribbean island of Bonaire. It was wonderful and relaxing and replenishing. A lot. As usual I could have stayed muuuuuuch longer. I missed the wind and subtle noise of the swaying palm fronds while laying in bed last night. I still had that swaying feeling that comes from being on a surfboard every day and that felt was great.

Anyways, I am sure you will be seeing many more Bonaire pictures on my blog soon. In fact, if you search on it for Bonaire, you will find quite a few from previous years.

Oh, and for those who know about our history of injuries… there were NONE. Yayhay!

That’s it for now. I hope you’ll enjoy this Bonaire sunrise – have a great Sunday!

  1. Beautiful and peaceful. So glad you enjoyed it. Your pictures were great and I loved seeing David’s surf video. Where was yours? Welcome home.

    • It sure was – in the morning. It was a great vacation, much needed. The GoPro is usually on David’s sail. And since I was only getting back this time and the wind was not all that good (plus I put on a few pounds last year)… no good video from me.

  2. Vacations are wonderful, but I find that I have to recover from them in many different ways, not the least of which is mourning the loss of the quietude and excitement of each day. Your video is wonderful … I love the motion in contrast to the peaceful sunrise. Is that your video? And if so, what were you flying on ? 🙂

    • You are quite right about the recovering part, Andrea. In fact, I took today off work to ease back into life at home 🙂
I was actually not flying or moving in any way when I took this video, but sat on the beach. It is a time-lapse, hence 30 minutes in 30 seconds, and I love how it makes clouds move.
Oh, and everything I am sharing on my site is mine. I don’t think I ever have, but should I share someone else’s work, I will mark it very clearly.

  3. It was great to see all your posts from Bonaire. Also no injuries, no trouble with feet, everything seemed to be fine this year! Like Debbi I also enjoyed David’s surf videos. And of course I remembered my own Bonaire stay with you back in 2011. It really was a great time and I understand that you go back every year.

    • Just wait for the other hundreds of photos, Peti 😀 It was a good vacation. A little on the light side with the wind, but it was all good.
Maybe you will join us again another time on Bonaire? That would sure be fun.

  4. That was amazing!!! I truly enjoyed that. Especially since we woke up to minus zero digits here — even though it is supposed to be Spring. But the sun IS shining and the snow IS slowly melting, so I’ll take that and you’re sunrise as a good start to any Monday.

  5. Claudia, so glad to have you back. A vacation sounds lovely especially to a tropical paradise as such as yours. We’re getting some warm condition here, not tropical mind ya, but still very nice. I’m loving that it’s spring again and am looking forward to everything spring to come, except the allergies and that’s already hit. There’s nothing I can do about that. Very nice vid! Thanks for hosting and I hope to join in more often than I have in recent months. Have a good week, my friend!
