Annual Car Show in Whippany NJ

What is followed by a stressy week? Hopefully a lazy weekend! We had a pretty lazy one, did not even go bike riding once. Well, together that is. I still went on a couple of brief photo scouting tours by bike, but that does not really count. Anyhow, what I was getting at is that I saw these signs out for an annual car show in Whippany NJ. To be precise in the Birchwood Manor, which is, I presume, a very pretty location to stage a wedding, event or such. And, it also has a huge parking lot out back, which on Saturday served as the stage for the car show.

Enjoy my photos of some very new, very pimped or very old cars and trucks. But, no matter which of those attributes, all of them were really great looking!

Btw – two weeks are already gone, so it is time for another round of our Sisterhood Stories Blogcircle. So once you have had a look at my car photos below (and left a comment *wink wink*), hop on over to Kay’s story and photos at Kay Maguire Photography.

p.s. if David had really wanted to, he could have even bought my next Christmas +birthday +Christmas +birthday + etc. etc. gift there 😉

pps. which one of the beauties below is your favorite (I was too excited to even take a picture of ‘my future gift’ – LOL)

  1. Gorgeous cars. I love vintage cars. The first car I ever owned was an old Ford Fairlane that I got in the 1980s. Sure wish I still had that car. It was a great car and had a lot of good memories with it. My fave in this group? This red one sixth up from the last pic!

    • I knew you would like them. I actually took a couple of photos for you, but they did not turn out that well, sorry 🙁
A-ha, the red one – somebody called it a BelAir, not sure if that is true. I actually like a red one, too. The Barracuda 🙂 But as I said my fav one is not even in this lot.

    • Thank you, Susi. It really is amazing what a fantastic job these owners do restoring and maintaining their cars. I mean, all of them were driven there. I actually saw some of them arriving earlier in the morning 🙂

  2. Wow, there were some really worthy cars on display. Among others I think to recognize a Thunderbird and of course the Mercedes SL.

I like the way you depicted them. Interesting perspectives and also a dramatic sky in some shots 🙂

A good way to spend a Sunday!

    Greetings from Montenegro,

    • You would have had a ball walking around there, Michael. If it hadn’t been for David’s bad foot we sure would have stuck around longer.
Well, most of the time the perspective was dictated by my effort to try and keep people and other distractions out of the shot. It didn’t always work, but also did not want to photoshop excessively. And you know how I love dramatic skies 🙂
I hope you are having fun in Montenegro. Are you going to update your site with a review? I wouldn’t mind seeing more photos. I assume you are kiting, not surfing?
      In any case: Have fun!!

  3. People around the cars having a look into interiors and (what else) the speedometer are a well known challenge also for me.. There is an annual Oldtimer Show in a nearby village which I visited occasionally.

Thank you Claudia! Today is my third day here in Montenegro. Yesterday I left my iPhone in my room, so there are currently no new pictures which I could upload right now. ;-0 I hope to see some more interesting places like the old city of Ulcinj and will of course have my P7100 and/or 5s and hand to take some snapshots. 🙂

Maybe I really should consider also a report on http://www.surfingdave.de. There are some interesting aspects to know about this place…

And, yes, it is more a lightwind spot here. Thermal winds make it interesting mainly for Kitesurfing. I have seen only very few windsurfers so far (maybe 3). I keep you updated! 🙂

Sorry for this extended side report…

    • Don’t stress over uploading pictures during your vacay, I am sure I will see them sometime. And here more about the ‘interesting facts’ of Montenegro – sounds intriguing!
p.s. NO need to be sorry for anything, thanks for ‘chatting’ with me 🙂

  4. One of my favourite parts of my home town parade is when the vintage cars drive by! they all look so beautiful all freshly washed and bright paint jobs … and just so cool. And I am not really a “car” person — I couldn’t tell you names of any of them. A car is “blue” or “red” to me… LOL. But I love watching them drive by.
