Last week of November’s Art Every Day and NaBloPoMo

November 27th

Sunday and day #27 of the final week (for this year) of AEDM and NaBloPoMo – I will keep it simple today, both in writing, joining the Friendly Fill-Ins, and in art, joining Sunday Sketches.

The Friendly Fill-Ins are four fun and easy statements to complete. Ellen of 15andmeowing provides the first two statements and the final two are offered by myself (McGuffy’s Reader). We try to make sure they will be fun to both answer and share. On Friday, the linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM. Please come back, link up, and share your thoughts! Here are this week’s statements with the blanks:

  1. Yesterday, I spent all freakin’ day to fix my computer. I think I mentioned previously that David and I swapped and somehow his ‘old’ computer didn’t feel right, it didn’t feel like me. Silly, huh? Anyways, so, I got a fast SSD to re-install Windows on. Sounds simple enough, done it a gazillion times. Hardware install – no problem. Windows – a different story. In the end I got it done and re-installed also programs etc., but it took me all.day.long.
  2. I hadn’t really thought about regifting, probably because we don’t do a lot of gifting anymore, so that every gift is well thought of. However I do remember a time when I would have been all too happy to have the choice of giving something ‘unwanted’ to someone who did want or needed it without a bad conscience.
  3. My favourite holiday leftover is turkey! And stuffing with gravy! And turkey, no stuffing, ahem gravy – you get the picture :). Can you imagine that I used to hate gravy? And didn’t touch the very first stuffing ever my in-laws made? Hahaha – changes…
  4. The best part of a long, holiday weekend is having time to do the things I want to do without thinking about going back to work the very next day.

There you go, those are my answers.

And now on to Sunday Sketches (from the USA). As I mentioned in no. 1 above I didn’t spend much time at all yesterday creating something artful. I probably had 10 minutes in front of the fire right before dinner with my iPad and started inking a manga sketch of chibis that I had done a few weeks back. Guess which one of the three chibis was inked yesterday and which ones this morning? Pretty obvious, oh well.

Enjoy your Sunday, All!Cheers,

claudia3

If I have time I will be linking with one or more of the fine people in this collection – check them out!

  1. Cute kiddies. I too have big guilt about re-gifting. I have only done it twice and the gift went to persons I KNEW would be over the top to have the items. I am so grateful that people even think of me to give me something. I know, I sound like goodie goodie, but trust me that ain’t the case. As you well know. 😉

  2. I honestly couldn’t tell you which chibi was drawn when. They all look cool. I like these kind of drawings. I actually relaxed with some “art” yesterday when little one and I went to a Color Me Mine studio to paint some ceramics. Can’t wait to pick up the end result after glazing and firing the pieces.
There were parts of Thanksgiving dinner that I didn’t like for the longest time – sweet potato casserole, anyone? – but now I embrace the whole meal. And enjoy the leftover turkey as turkey pot pie. 🙂

  3. Aww…you joined us! Yikes! I hate computer issues. I went through that a year ago, when Bill got me the new PC and a new laptop. The old pair crashed and I went through fits with that, then with trying to get the new ones up to speed. Yesterday, the PC froze. A fake “warning” popped up telling me my computer was being taken hostage, to call the number to Microsoft to save it. Oh, he77, no! I restarted it, and scanned it. It was fine. I am sure some people would have called that number! I Googled it and sure enough, it was a brand new scam! I wish you lived closer, so you could help me learn things. I learn by trial and error. HUGS.

  4. I love your Manga sketches, Claudia!

Re. the comment you left on my blog about Crowded House. I also watched their ’96 farewell concert tour and, I agree, they certainly are true artists. 🙂

  5. Your chibis are so cute. And why does anything computer related take all day? Glad you got to enjoy your holiday anyway, and get in some leftovers as well as some art.

  6. Technology — ggggrrrrrr!!! I feel your pain friend. I was working on a friend’s MAC today… and I fell in love. Unrequited it will be though because holy $$$$$. And I can’t tell which one because all 3 look fantastic!!

  7. I’m fighting a meltdown right now with my computer, so I know what you mean. A new plug and play mouse would do neither, so it took hours and hours and driver installs to overcome the problem. Then the computer wouldn’t cooperate, just because of a mouse that should have worked on start up.

All three of your chibis are adorable. I am not that good at guessing, so will just say how much I adore mashed potatoes and gravy.

  8. I’m sorry that you had computer troubles and that it took all day to fix. I understand completely what you mean about his computer not feeling right. We get used to our own and they are almost like an extension of ourselves. You can get that from someone else’s machine. It makes perfect sense to me.

I love your answer to #3! Stuffing/dressing and gravy is great!

I hope that you enjoyed your long weekend and have a blessed week. 🙂
