#12 / 2016 – Wordless or Wordy Wednesday
*** Here is where I link up today. ***
Please help me spread the word about my Saturday Art Linkup and grab my badge below:
I hope that over time we will be building a community dedicated to art and creating. I rather like these words said by Andy Warhol:
“Don’t think about making art, just get it done.
Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it.
While they are deciding, make even more art.”
What a brilliant close up 🙂
Have a reptiletastic week 🙂
Thank you, Steve, next I’ll have to post the color version.
WOW!! That is incredible! How close did “he” let you get? The detail in the photo is fantastic.
It was in the wild, but apparently other tourists feed them – even if they should not – so they actually come pretty close, maybe 4 yards? But you have to be careful not be whipped with their tails. Can you believe, while I was shooting this guy there were two more creeping up on me from behind – that actually scared me a little.
Well hello there handsome! Brilliant close up shot. Was he in your shower? That’s what happened to me the last time I had a tropical vacation. LOL
You got to tell me about that shower experience – hahaha – no, no, this one was safe distance out in the wild. I had my tele lens with me.
Outdoor shower. But for when you come from the beach, so I had bathing suit on.. but they tend to climb the walls so when you turn around Hello! Here I am – LOL.
Whoa, looks like a cool guy. I need to know the story behind him!
Not such a big story. They are really all over on Bonaire. This one here surprised me a little with his companions who snuck up on my back while I was taking his portrait. But I escaped. With the shot. I had my trusty 70-200. Iguana usually stay still for a bit which is great to get a sharp picture 🙂
I love your quote.
“Don’t think about making art, just get it done.

While they are deciding, make even more art.”
Have a great week Happy Wordless Wednesday. XX Don
They are great words. Very true and I have to repeat them to me often when I am creating photo or other art pieces.
I would have loved to ‘visit’ you, Don, but unfortunately I cannot find your virtual home 🙁
Claudia, your subject is very dramatic featured in B&W. I will never understand how people keep these things as pets. I hope this isn’t your pet. If so, let me get my foot out of my mouth. 😀 Anywho, the same goes for snakes. I just don’t get it and it creeps me out….totally! But photographing these critters makes for interesting shot. Nice job.
Don’t worry, Cathy. This photo was taken in the wild, but even if – I wouldn’t take offense. I would never have snakes or spiders or such as pets.
The texture and the mood of the photo is simply amazing!
Thank you so much, Merlinda.
That is wicked cool!
I know, right?! They are pretty cool creatures, and some like to pose 😀
Fierce photo!
When I was in the Virgin Islands they were everywhere!
I was terrified of them at first but eventually got up my courage to pet and hand feed them –
They look fierce but are pretty cool!
They love to eat the local flowers!
I wouldn’t fed them. Especially in the wild, like this one was. But apparently other tourists had done so, because these were pretty fearless. Poor flowers, but I guess that is nature for you.
Iguana’s are pretty cool to look at but they are quite the nuisance here in Florida. We have tons of them on the side of the road and you better keep your distance. A few years back when we had an especially cold Winter they were dying by the handful and would fall out of trees because they went into cold shock. It was crazy…
Yeah, I know what you mean. That winter must have been quite the sight. We actually got ‘scared’ once. I was in the hammock and we watched one of the iguana climb up a palm tree, not thinking much of it. But then we saw another one underneath it. And all of a sudden that iguana ‘jumped’ off the tree, attacking his rival! I thought he would break every bone. I mean a palmtree is pretty tall… crazy…
Wonderful close up and especially beautiful in black and white!
Thank you very much, Mitzi. I think I will also show it in color. It is pretty cool, because you can actually see some red around his mouth.
A beautiful image of the Iguana, but I would not call it Art
Thank you, Monica.
Hm, I am not sure if or where I called it art, but it doesn’t matter, because art lies in the eye of the beholder. You and I may not call it art, but somebody else may 🙂
They’re amazing to see in their natural setting, aren’t they? I almost expect a caveman to round the bend!
Thanks for posting here, and I do hope you’ll join us at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/03/spring-has-finally-sprung.html and share there as well!
Yes, they are pretty amazing to watch and look at. Thanks, Sue.
Incredible detail in this. The fact it’s in B&W really brings it out
Happy Easter
Thank you for linking up
Thank you, Darren. The detail and shallow dof is really why I liked and posted this particular photo.
I hope you had a good Easter.
Love this picture – beautiful
Thank you so much!
What a fantastic shot! All the details of its skin are just amazing!
Thank you very much, Betty. I am happy the photo turned out as well as it did.
