Don’t you sometimes wish for a Magic Moon?

Hi Guys, how’s it going? How is your summer or should I rather say how has your summer been now that it is almost over? I can hardly believe that I am typing those words while I am sitting here on our deck on a warm Sunday afternoon – summer, over -. Oh well, that’s part of life. I still wished summer was so much longer…

So, how have you been? To answer my headline’s question: I do. Do you? Care to share anything exciting or not so exciting? I am mostly on the ‘not so exciting’ side of things. Summer was, well, is wonderful, don’t get the me wrong but I just spent way too much time in the office. Well, it does pay for the mortgage and new gadgets though. Did you see that the iPhone 7 is available now? I plunged in and should have mine by the end of this week – exciting!

Anyway, I finally decided to return to my deserted blog. So here I am. And with the ‘me’ there is also … sARTurday. Well, not this weekend as you may have noticed, but next week it shall. I hope that I will get the post and link up published every Friday evening, but we will see. I hope you found at least a little time to get creative over the hot summer weeks and will share your artwork with us next Saturday.

Don’t feel bad if you did not though. A I said I certainly wasn’t the most productive ever. Far from it. But I did manage to get in some creative time. To be absolutely honest, if I hadn’t been able to doodle and paint and Photoshop at least some, I probably would have gone crazy.

The below composition, the magic moon , is the biggest piece I managed to finish in quite a while. Mind you, it took way (!) longer than it really should have. I actually have several others that I have in the works at the same time, unfinished. Which makes me curious, how do you work when you are creative? Do you start and finish one piece before you start with a new one? Or do you work on several pieces at the same time hopping from one to the other?

Please let me know. I look forward to your answers and your artwork. And, of course, enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Cheers,

claudia3

  1. I absolutely LOVE this piece. It’s so magical and mystical …it pretty much represents that idealized version of myself when I am camping in the woods! LOL But seriously, sleeping under the moon and stars and having all that lushness surround you — you can easily imagine yourself a fair maiden, or fairy in her woodland bower. So happy to see you back with your awesome creative self. I took many photos this summer, that’s for certain, but I haven’t had much time to do anything special with them. I need some fresh inspiration!!
Since I am still learning photoshop and all the other techniques, I generally just work on one piece of art for now. It just takes me far too long at my current level. Often I have to delete and start over when something doesn’t go right. But it’s all a fun learning process still!!

  2. Beautiful picture. I love the luminescence. Yes, I do “pray” to the moon on occasion. I keep a bottle of water in the window to be blessed so that I can use it when needed. Its been a long summer. That’s about all I can say at this point. Glad to see you are still the gadget guru. 🙂

  3. That’s a great piece. I love the colors and composition. Just beautiful. All’s well here. Back to the grind back to the new school year… and a surprise trip to Disney coming up for our littlest ones birthday. I think I’m more excited than she is. 🙂

  4. What a gorgeous piece! Those intricate and beautiful ones always seem to take longer, don’t they? 😉 I tend to focus on one creative piece at a time – though if there are other individual pieces that would make up a series, I’ll hop around and work on each as inspiration strikes. If that makes sense. 🙂 Great to see you back!!

Just a side note – is it my browser (Chrome) or is your background black with the text gray? If it’s the latter, it’s hard to read – it would be easier to read if the text is white for a better contrast… 🙂

    • Hey Stacy, it is not your monitor. I changed the design of my site and like it (black background), however I am waiting on the design company to get back to me on how to change the font color to a lighter gray or even white. So, apologies and please check back in a week or on sARTurday 🙂 Thank you!!
