A mixed media painting, friendly Friday fill-ins and some beautiful quotes

Welcome to Friday on my blog

It has been so quiet around here. And I didn’t want it to be that way, but somehow it just happened. I had really wanted to join last week’s Friendly Fill Ins, because the prompts and participant’s answers were awesome, but sadly I didn’t make it. Reason enough to get a head start on it this week and post them early – see below.

I have also been working a little in the background on the website. I realize that the loading of the blog overview page is very slow, due to the load of pictures, and I also wanted to get a real front page again to showcase my different kinds of work (some of you may remember that I used to have that). So, that is in the works, I got a caching software now and designed the frontpage, now I just need to finalize it. Easy, right?! Once that is done there will be a beautiful and fast loading front page and a different kind of blog page that is also going to load a lot faster. Here we go with the Friday’s Friendly Fill ins hosted by Ellen of 15andmeowing and by McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader. And today’s or tomorrow’s, depending on when you read this post, the prompts are:

  1. My guiding word for 2017 is is not one word, but a few and they basically build on what I started last year. Have a look at the Star Girl picture (* inspired by Tamara Laporte) below and you will see what I mean.
  2. I never made it one of my class reunion(s), because I when they happened I always lived overseas.
  3. Truth be told I am superstitious about open cabinet doors and drawers when going to bed and empty space under the bed.
  4. Lately, I have been, starting another year long mixed media course by Tamara Laporte (Life Book 2017) and other illustration and sketching courses. 2017 watch out for more drawings/paintings!

And that’s it for me today. I hope you be seeing you all on Saturday for the art link up, where everyone is welcome, from photographers to photoartists to painters and doodlers and, of course, creative writers.Cheers,

claudia3

If I have time I will be linking with one or more of the fine people in this collection – check them out!

  1. Claudia, I like your Star Girl. I really wish I could be more consistent in doing artwork but dabbling in it the way I do does bring me joy. I guess for now, I’ll just go with the flow. That’s more than I did once upon a time, so I am progressing. 🙂 Have a funtastic Friday and best of luck in your continued art courses – you’re a fantastic artist!

  3. Interesting thing about the cabinet doors and under the bed. I grew up with a huge fear regarding under the bed. Cabinet doors being open or drawers being open only get me going due to the fact that I can be a little OCD about things like that. However, 2017 is going to be the opening of doors for me though. I am seeking and following in order to find them so that I can open them. I like those signs. Especially the middle one. LOL

  4. I had to have someone look at the front page of the pictures loading. Mine were obscenely slow!
I didn’t make it to my 10 year reunion. Maybe I’ll go to my 20th but not sure. It’s funny how Facebook take the mystery out of so much. But face to face is the raw truth and I like that.

  5. Excellent. This is a really great visual reminder about what you personally are working on. Beautiful, too! I have a fondness for night, stars, and the moon. I always have. I need a Star Girl!
Okay, now i need to know why you have a thing about open cabinets and drawers, and empty space under the bed. Interesting! Hugs!

  6. LOVE your star girl! I didn’t sign up for LB 2017 because I only recently signed up for Tam’s LB 2015. Good job revising your blog etc. I really have very little tech skills and need to rely on my son often:) Happy PPF!

  7. I love Star Girl!!!! Can I print her out for daily inspiration?! You’re amazing – I don’t know how you keep coming up with such original ideas. And the site is really looking good. I also just realized that I can never leave a room if a door is open. And I won’t sit in it either. Our laundry room door always opens on it’s own and it freaks me out completely. I can’t watch TV if it is open – because it’s behind me. And yes I just shivered.
