A mixed media painting, friendly Friday fill-ins and some beautiful quotes

Welcome to Friday on my blog

It has been so quiet around here. And I didn’t want it to be that way, but somehow it just happened. I had really wanted to join last week’s Friendly Fill Ins, because the prompts and participant’s answers were awesome, but sadly I didn’t make it. Reason enough to get a head start on it this week and post them early – see below.

I have also been working a little in the background on the website. I realize that the loading of the blog overview page is very slow, due to the load of pictures, and I also wanted to get a real front page again to showcase my different kinds of work (some of you may remember that I used to have that). So, that is in the works, I got a caching software now and designed the frontpage, now I just need to finalize it. Easy, right?! Once that is done there will be a beautiful and fast loading front page and a different kind of blog page that is also going to load a lot faster. Here we go with the Friday’s Friendly Fill ins hosted by Ellen of 15andmeowing and by McGuffy of McGuffy’s Reader. And today’s or tomorrow’s, depending on when you read this post, the prompts are:

  1. My guiding word for 2017 is is not one word, but a few and they basically build on what I started last year. Have a look at the Star Girl picture (* inspired by Tamara Laporte) below and you will see what I mean.
  2. I never made it one of my class reunion(s), because I when they happened I always lived overseas.
  3. Truth be told I am superstitious about open cabinet doors and drawers when going to bed and empty space under the bed.
  4. Lately, I have been, starting another year long mixed media course by Tamara Laporte (Life Book 2017) and other illustration and sketching courses. 2017 watch out for more drawings/paintings!

And that’s it for me today. I hope you be seeing you all on Saturday for the art link up, where everyone is welcome, from photographers to photoartists to painters and doodlers and, of course, creative writers.Cheers,

If I have time I will be linking with one or more of the fine people in this collection – check them out!
