Photoshop watercolor art for s~A(R)T~urday

Welcome to the weekend. Welcome to Saturday art link up!

s~A(R)T~urday

The job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery.”  Francis Bacon

I had hoped to be showing you a different picture today. But truth be told limping around with my broken foot and other health issues seem to be draining from me any energy I have left after my day at work. I can hardly believe how much and how well I am sleeping. It still amazes me. I never used to sleep that (!) much. I guess my body needs it at the moment.

But it means that this week I have created exactly nothing, zero, zip. Which really makes me sad. Even now, as I am typing this, I have the urge in me to create. I want to open Lightroom and Photoshop and start painting, editing. I can feel it strong. But not strong enough. My mind and body keep whispering ‘the couch, go and lie down, you’ll feel better and then…’. Hahaha – like that’s going to happen. And I bet I am not alone hearing that whisper, right?

So, I am presenting you, well, something a little different. Again. With my background in landscape and nature photography a lot of my composites involve those photos. But in this case my own pictures, the many roses, which I edited to resemble a watercolor painting, take a backseat to stock images and textures from Katie Pertiet, Anna Aspnes and an unknown source. Often times when I start with an image I do not have a clear concept of where I am going. This time I knew I wanted to do something with the watercolor technique and that lonely broken doll. So, I added this and that and, of course, some Photoshop mojo and here we are.

Do you have signs of spring in your area yet? Do you work with those signs in your spring art or do you prefer to pull out older material?

*** Here is where I link up today. ***

Please help me spread the word about my Saturday Art Linkup and grab my badge below:

I hope that over time we will be building a community dedicated to art and creating. My personal medium is photography and photo art, but I do not want to put a limit on my art link up. Thus I encourage you to join me, no matter which your art form is.

Please don not be intimidated that I am calling this an art link up. I want you to share your creations. Art is completely subjective. It takes courage and time to realize that you may actually call your own creations art. If you believe they are pieces of art, I believe they are. They may be good or bad or great – who am I to say?! I’d rather like to think along these words from Andy Warhol:

Don’t think about making art, just get it done.

Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it.

While they are deciding, make even more art.”
