Spring?

Tuesday and thus time for two of my favorite virtual weekly blogging challenges by Leslie and Kathy. Each week both come up with a prompt for our blogging communities, one more aimed at writing, the other more at photography. A lot of times I can nicely combine both prompts, and I will do it again this week.

  1. Leslie’s prompt today: I am so done with Winter… .show me your Spring!
  2. Kathy’s suggestion for Song-ography is “American Pie” by Don McLean

Doesn’t sound combinable?! Watch me:

“But February made me shiver
With every paper I’d deliver
Bad news on the doorstep
I couldn’t take one more step”

Granted I am barely scratching the surface of this American classic and I actually also had a pie photo lined up, but when I saw it next to this photo? Nope, that was a no go. So, sorry, Leslie, but not really spring here yet either. What better excuse than to create our own spring with our art?

This is actually a variation of a photo I did early in 2013 as a simple composite. A spring photo, plus snow effect. That was it back in 2013. Fast forward two years and I have added more elements, paper, flowers, bird and script overlays, all part of my evolution as an artist.

There is no right or wrong. There is art.

Hmm, why don’t I show you the 2013 version, too? Here you go. A lot cleaner, less messy, more real, more photographic. Which ever one you prefer, I created them both and I like them both.

Why don’t you join me along my journey and follow me on  and  if you prefer and see what I come up with next. You can, of course, also subscribe by email – (click) here or you may follow my blog with Bloglovin or my preferred reader Feedly.

Drop me a comment and you’ll make me smile!
