Welcome to my s~A(R)T~urday linky party – today: Sunday Sketches
“The goal of life: simple, but not empty.”
~ Terri Guillemets ~
Quite literally this is a Sunday Sketches post, because I sketched the illustration you see below today. Alex challenged participants to come up with a temporary logo for here meme. Required were a tree and the meme’s name:
Sunday Sketches from England
I really did not think that I would participate in this challenge, because I have a few other things on my mind. But I guess it is one of those things: Today I just had to sit down and draw something. And, of course, being Sunday I thought about Sunday Sketches. I drew this first with my pens on paper, trying to have the ink strokes of the tree trunk and ‘branches’ very uneven on purpose to imply gnarly bark.
Then I scanned and colored the image in ProCreate on my iPad. Overall I was looking for a paper and drawing feel. As in not too perfect, hence e.g. the bleeding over the edges of the black ink.
Since I did the coloring in ProCreate, I am sharing with you the timelapse video a.k.a. speedpainting that you can save with this app.
Please check out the other entries, because they are fantastic! I already had a peek at a couple and they are wonderful.
Cheers,
Why don’t you join me along my journey and follow me on
