Tulip photos & a robot?

Leslie’s, from Time out for Mom, question this week, is a slightly weird one. I really cannot wait to read her story behind it. What made her prompt this one: You are in a cabin and it is pitch black. You have one match on you. Which do you light first, the newspaper, the lamp, the candle or the fire? Maybe we’re going to hear one of her great stories? Yay! Cannot to read it 🙂

As for me, that is pretty easy. I can be all logic, despite having a creative mind: The match. Then the candle. With the candle, I can then light the lamp to read the newspaper and when I hit the sports page stop and use the paper to light a fire to keep warm. o.k.?!

I have actually started to write this on Sunday night. Sunday was a pretty tough day for decisions. We had so many things to do and I mean we had to do them. Important stuff that you could not simply delay. But on the other hand, finally mother nature decided to have some wind blowing on a Sunday. Windsurfing? We haven’t been since Bonaire in March. And in New Jersey since some time last year – oh my. Well, our left brains won and we stayed home and did boring ol’ stuff. Like – building a robot and… what?! Building a robot?! Exactly. Nothing fancy, but David built his very first robot. You didn’t know that he has a thing for electronics, engineering and all that stuff? Well, he does have a MSIT (I think that is what you call it) in Industrial Technology. How he ended up in finance and real estate – I don’t know. Call it life.

And you know what? He also published his very first post on his very own website called DavidHWillison. There is not too much there to see yet. Except for the video we shot Sunday afternoon of the little guy rolling around our living room and hitting stuff, including my iPhone. But it is pretty neat. You should check it out, even if – like me – you don’t know the first thing about these things. I still think they’re cool. Let me, or rather him, know what you think? Obviously he will be posting updates on this project, but also some of his short stories. So, if you like the ones you read here on my site, you should watch out for those.

Well, and while I was not filming hubby’s efforts, I was tinkering myself. On my website, naturally. I finally started to put a little portfolio on here again. So far, only a few b&w images, but – it’s a start. You can see it in the main menu on the top. Hopefully I will get around to uploaded or rather consolidating a few more shortly.

And what kind of blog post would this be if I did not have at least one of my pictures for you, huh?! o.k. – here you go. Last week I took half an hour after work at the Arboretum and found the most beautiful magnolia tree. Those of you who are connected with me on Facebook have already seen a pic, the rest of you – sorry – will have to wait a little. Because today I am only going to show you the my tulip photos that were in bloom. I opted for a vintage processing on two of the pictures. The last one I left SOOC except for the vignette.
