Check out the second part of my iPhone photo tips – here!

And don’t forget to check back on Saturday for my brand new *(almost) anything goes* art link up: s~A(R)T~urday

p.s. You are seeing a gallery of my Instagram photos, because in the near future I intend to always post my Instagram feed from the previous week. To do so I am cleaning out the older pictures I have not published on my site yet. This will probably take me a few weeks. Until then, instead of one or two photos you will see galleries with a common (or not so common) theme like this one.

  1. Very nice! The one on the lower left is my fave. Reminds me of a storybook illustration for some reason. Back in the dark ages I did watercolors. You make me think about doing some again just to see what I can do now.

    • Thanks, Debbi. If it weren’t for the fact that it was created with a filter only, it would be my fav, too. I am kind of torn, I still kinda feel like a cheater with these water color apps.
You should definitely try that again. You know I did. And I am having a ton of fun! Not always presentable images, but fun.

  2. Ooh, I love the watercolors! They could be in a book.
Lately I’ve been having severe beach town cravings. I guess winter and early spring did a number on me.

    • Yeah, I love watercolors, too. Real ones. These ones, except for the rainbow one, not so much – anymore. They were created with a ‘simple filter’. But I do agree, they look very real.
Hey – you don’t need to convince me, I totally dig beach towns and beaches!

  3. love this watercolour feel!! I tried to do this myself with one of my Niagara Falls shots, but it didn’t quite turn out. the last one of the sunset is just gorgeous!

    • Thank you, Susi. All except the rainbow were done in Waterlogue, which I since have deleted. Not because it is not good, but because I always felt like a cheater when I used it. The rainbow was done in Adobe Paintcan and just recently I found PhotoViva. Both of these you use one of your photos and then you paint over it. Real brush strokes, different brushes etc. etc. Very much as if you had a reference photo and then free painted.
