Another snow storm is currently i.e. today hitting us, it is winter in NJ. I have lost count how many we have had this season and I don’t really care. But I have had enough of snow. And the next few days we are supposed to keep the really low (o.k. not that low for you Canadians!) temperatures. But I do admit that snow and ice and sunshine make for pretty pictures. Here are a few I took in and after one of the previous storms a couple of weeks back. One day the snow and freezing temperatures were paired with a strong wind, which made for some nice snow drifts.
After taking photos out in the cold, what is better than to be warming up inside, possibly next to a warm fire, hot beverage of choice and… a scanner. Yep, last weekend I finally, finally got a scanner. So that means that I am one step closer to getting the zillions of photos that I took before the digital age digitized, well, at least some of them. One batch at a time. And the first photos I test-scanned were from my time down under. Specifically one of the Christmas holidays, i.e. our winter = summer in Australia, that I spent with friends on their farm out in the bush in Victoria. Theirs was a sheep farm (a couple of scanned sheep photos are here in this post), whereas their neighbors had cattle. And of course, we went horseback riding. So, here I present you: Me, almost 20 years ago – look at the big pop-Swatch-watch and that perm – hahaha – high up on the back of a pretty tall, chestnut Australian thoroughbred called Adi (short for Adrenalin), my favorite horse – sigh. Cannot wait to scan more pictures from way back. But don’t worry, there is not going to be very many of me, since even back then: I was the photographer! 🙂
