Poetry is painting – any kind of art linkup on Saturday

Welcome to the weekend. Welcome to Saturday art link up!

s~A(R)T~urday

Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.”

Leonardo da Vinci

I think that I will be a little wordless this time around from my art link up. The one thing that I wanted to say, what I need to point out is that my link up is for any kind of art, not only photo art, because poetry is painting. Fictional writing, prose is wonderful art. So, if you have a writer among your friends, please welcome them to our little community. I would love to read and showcase their work, too.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends!

I hope that over time we will be building a community dedicated to art and creating. My personal medium is photography and photo art, but I do not want to put a limit on my art link up. Thus I encourage you to join me, no matter which your art form is.

Please don not be intimidated that I am calling this an art link up. I want you to share your creations. Art is completely subjective. It takes courage and time to realize that you may actually call your own creations art. If you believe they are pieces of art, I believe they are. They may be good or bad or great – who am I to say?! I’d rather like to think along these words from Andy Warhol:

Don’t think about making art, just get it done.

Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it.

While they are deciding, make even more art.”

  1. Your post inspired me to go looking for poetry I had written some time ago. And then I had to create an image to go with it of course. It’s a bit dark themed though. The little girl in the frame is actually me at age 5 as Mother Mary in the school Christmas pageant.

  2. I have been feeling that quite a bit lately. I think I’m on the verge of breaking free, but I can’t quite be sure yet. It feels like things are coming together the way they are supposed to. I know the saying is “leap & the net will appear” but it’s difficult to trust. At least it is for me.

Thank you for joining me again this week! I have been thinking about what I can add to your link-up – I’m thinking perhaps my (almost) wordless wednesday post. I meant to do a writing piece but didn’t get to it. Next week, though. 😉

    • I know exactly what you mean. I very much value safety (net and all), too. However, there comes a point where I just cannot wait anymore. I am sure you will get there, too, if you are not there already.
You could have linked it, Jen as I said, also (almost) SOOC photos are o.k., but of course, you’re also very welcome to come back next week 😉

    • Thank you. True, it never is to shatter the chains of the past…

I’m sorry to hear that you are having a problem with my fonts. Which one in particular? The article font? Or the one on the image?

  3. Oh I love that first quote so much!! that really sums up art, doesn’t it.
and I like your art edit — I am a sucker for lovely poster art with a great quote. And look at you becoming a pretty fine poet!!
    well done well done! 🙂
mine took me forever this week… but it was so fun. I had this whole idea of what I wanted to do; across 2 images, and while I can’t say with complete conviction that I got it exactly right: I did get the general idea of that image I had in my head. Just a lot of “tweaking” still to learn.
maybe with a little faith, a little trust…. and some pixie dust! (you’ll see – ha)

    • Thank you very much, Leslie. Very intentionally I did not write anything about the image i.e. how I made it, the quote etc. But you are right, they are my humble words. I really do not feel like a writer. Yet. You never know, I’ll dabble some more in it. But I really had fun doing the water color background with – *grasp* – real watercolor – LOL.
I did some more yesterday. But I also took my dSLR onto our deck and took a few shots of spring buds – you’ll see 🙂
And now off to check out your work.
      Thank you for linking up!

  4. Hi, I’,m from Germany. I make photos and “picstories” with my own photos and collages with all, what I find… with or without words…
Have linked up two storys, hope, that’s okay.

I think that art is never better or worse. Everyone does his own work in their own way

      Claudia
