Finally! It’s the weekend – time to recharge

Welcome to my s~A(R)T~urday linky party – today: Weekend

“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

~ Andy Warhol ~

Good mornings, dear readers. How are you? It seems like it has been very, very long that I have made my rounds on the interwebs. Currently I am just soooo involved with my day job – one could also say ‘taken over’ – that I hardly have time or ‘brain’ for anything else. Then when I finally do have or take  a few minutes – I just want to get away from it all.

Sounds a bit fatalistic, which is wrong, because I like what I am doing. But I also like other things and it just seems wrong to be fully occupied just by (daytime) work. I don’t know. How is it with you? How do you handle this?

Part of my current mindset probably is that I am still recovering from my Germany trip. It was a good and productive business trip with a little side of family and friends. But every day was stressing from one appointment to the other from early morning till evening and in the evening going out for dinner till late. By Friday night I was done for. Then flight home, time difference and Saturday afternoon I was in zombie mode.

But I had Sunday to recover before going back to work on Monday, right? Right. Then came Wednesday. Getting up at 4:30 am to catch a plane to Toronto, business, and after several meetings finally getting home at 9 pm. Thursday, Friday = work and now:

WEEKEND!!

Yes, it is the weekend for real. And this time I am really going to recover from, hm, recent activities – lol. I have been so focused on work I have even hardly drawn anything. The best I did, you will see it below, is a little practicing on my iPad.

I am sorry I don’t have any elaborate artwork for you today, maybe I’ll spice it up with a photo or two, yet I am confident that I will be doing some more this weekend. I hope that your time spent involved a little more creating and you are going to share it with us.

Thanks for watching and don’t forget to link up your creative work below!

Cheers,

  1. Welcome home! That’s a lot of culture to take in one short span! LOL. Hope you get some rest and can do some fun stuff for you. I have similar periods mid-March to mid-April and then again mid-Sept to mid-October where all I can do is go on autopilot and just do what I do at the office, come home, eat, bed, and get up to do it again. There is no time to think or do anything else! After 26 years of this I am an old hat at it and I do not let it bother me and think this too shall pass and I will be able to have some fun soon. 🙂

  2. I was following along about your trip! I found it fascinating only because I have never left North America, and I’d love to be able to do that more freely. Alaska is our next big trip and then maybe after that!
I’d love to hear more about your day job one day. I’m sure you’re fantastic at it!

  3. Hi Claudia! I watch my sister go on endless business trips and I don’t know how she stays sane with all the time changes and meetings. She does rest up a lot when she can which is probably what keeps her going. When I was working full time, it seemed I was much more organized than I am now not working. I think it’s because I had a set schedule every day that did not change, unlike you. Rest up and feel better, let the chores go for another day, and do something for you! Big hugs, Rasz

  4. I’ll have to show those hand and eye illustrations to my little one. She’s getting really into drawing and looks up You Tube videos for tutorials. It’s so cool to see how she has progressed.
I’ve been very absent myself online. This move is crazy. We kind of decided to stay put at the new house after having a fun “camping night” with air mattresses and have been moving things bit by bit from the old house. It’s exhausting. Work from 8 to 4. Some unpacking, straightening etc at the new house, dinner and then a run to the old house for more boxes… But I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and am hopeful that by the end of this week we’ll be done. It’s all worth it of course and we all love our new home so much!!! xoxo

  5. Fluffy clouds make my day!!! 🙂
And I so hear you! I am not really in a blogging mode or mood these days — but the wind down from school days is always tough too. The brain can only handle so much, and the first thing to go is usually the creative pursuits. But that’s okay – ebb and flow – they will come back around again, so I don’t panic about it. Art will happen eventually! ha.
I love the eye doodles. You really capture something even in those little sketches… like I can see a twinkle and it makes me want to see the whole face now.
