Welcome to my s~A(R)T~urday linky party – today: Bonaire Lac Bay
“Art attracts us only by what it reveals of our most secret self.” ~Jean-Luc Godard ~
What?! I am late again? That seems to become a constant thing around here, huh? I hope you don’t mind too much.
Like the past few weeks I don’t have a much edited or even painted or drawn image for you today. But what I do have is a little video. One that, as usual, took a little longer to put together, hence the delay in my post.
Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy the underwater world in the shallows in Lac Bay, including the octopus. A few more reef fish photos are in this previous post.
Have a great weekend!

Snorkeling the shallow reef on Bonaire I never thought I would see an
octopus.
Notice how it quickly changes its colors to camouflage.
It was awesome!

Nice filming and love the Octopus … They are such interesting characters and I love how he made himself just disappear at the end. Nature is so amazing. Looking forward to more pictures from you vacation.
Andrea @ From The Sol
Thanks, Andrea, He was certainly THE find of this vacation. Amazing how he curled up in the crevice, right?
Did I see this right? He changed colors to match his environment? I did not know they did that! Very cool video!
Yes, exactly! It is an amazing creature, right? At first I didn’t see it. When I did I read up on it, and yes, they do.
Wow Claudia seeing that octopus in his natural environment was amazing!
What impressed me the most was how peaceful he was – as contrasted by the “monsters” we were raised to believe!
What an amazing place to vacation!
That is very true, Ramona. I actually showed the video to a co-worker today and the very first thing she said was ‘ewww’ – 🙂 that’s just what we were raised to believe. But seeing it in the wild, effortless hovering from coral to coral – I was in awe.
Cool video! We had family friends who were famous marine biologists, her main focus was the octopus!
I can understand why. I was soooo surprised to spot him there and then see him moving over to the next coral. I bet you had quite a few interesting talks with your family friends.
Amazing! You were lucky to spot it!
Very literally I was lucky. He must have moved a little otherwise I probably would not have. He is a master in camouflage.
Love it! Oh I miss going on tropical vacations! This is such an amazing thing – to see that vibrant life under the sea.
If you read my Chat post, you’ll see that I completely blundered on my art post! Like completely forgot that I had in fact done a photo edit! duh.
Yeah, next week is going to be a slow easy week! My brain clearly needs a rest. ha
Claudia, what a spectacular video! I don’t much about sea life, so my first thought was hey, a squid! But, you said it was an octopus. I guess I thought an octopus would be a lot bigger, but then again there are different kinds. Who cares, though! Right? That was an amazing experience and I REALLY appreciate you sharing this with this scaredy Cathy. I’m sorry for the late visit, but oh am I glad I finally hopped over! 😉
