In an answer to the first question of the Friday Fours, this is the answer. Yes, I have. However, it was slightly different than I like to remember it – icy. Then again, The ice beach was really beautiful. In a cold and bizarre way.
A little fantasy and processing fun and…
…harsh and cold reality. Both have their beauty in my eyes.

Both photos are gorgeous, as always! I just love the ice beach. That must have been incredible to come upon! You have a nature eye for bringing out the best through the lens’ eye for us to enjoy, Claudia.
No, I have not been to the beach this year and I am not sure if we will get to go. Our dear friends in Florida have invited us for a visit, but I just don’t know if we will be able to get away. It would be nice, though. I hope y’all have a good time on your upcoming trip to warmer climates. π
Thank you so much, Cathy. I do hope you get to enjoy warmer weather soon as well, even if you do not get to go to the beach. Winter – go away!
Amazing pictures.. we are very lucky that we get to hit the beach in the winter too – it is so beautiful!
It truly is very beautiful. But most people really associate it with summer only. Which is not wrong, by no means, but…
it’s true – there is beauty in both. one soft, one harsh; both no less showing the raw beauty of Nature.
I tried to hit the beach – camera in hand – but they had piled snow from clearing the roads into a big hill on the road. thus blocking the entrance. Thus my obsession with those 3 trees — that’s all I can get close to! π
oh my… Lindt Lindor truffles. melt in your mouth perfection.
I just made a totally inhuman noise.
Hah – with the amounts of snow that you are having and getting, I can imagine those entrance blocking mountains. Maybe go downhill skiing?! π
Stunning! Those icy rocks are beautiful in a really harsh kind of way.
Sounds exactly like what I was thinking when I saw them π
Love the photo! DH is my photographer and he says it is too cold to take pictures. He is also working on our 42 day vacation pictures so I am not bugging him yet.
Too cold to take pictures? Too cold? Never! Hahaha – but I can totally understand that other things get prioritized with this kind of weather.
That is so beautiful, but makes me incredibly grateful for Arizona weather! I would love to go to San Diego once it’s warm enough with a good book and not a care in the world.
Oh, I am so with you, Lisa. If I had a choice, I would definitely somewhere with year round warmer weather.
I’ve always wanted to see an ice beach. You’re spot on about SM, I have to make myself do it because it gets daunting but it’s part of the blogging lifestyle so it must be done!
Hey Julie, you know I had never see one before either. And the frozen river mouth, it was really an awesome sight.
Love the photos : ) Belgian chocolate is delicious – have a fab weekend x
Big yay for Belgian chocolate! Closely followed by Swiss π
Not been to the beach yet and I live SOO close to one! lovely pics!
What? You live close to the beach and haven’t been there yet? My oh my – well, things happen…
You are so right – social media can be truly overwhelming. I gave up trying to keep up with all the things a long time ago. Sometimes it’s just too much…
I love seeing a different type of beach in your pictures.
Thank you, Susi. Yep, me, too. I signed up for and am on a lot of social media platforms, but am I really on there… only on very few.
Oh such wonderful and lovely shots. I’ve never been to the beach in winter, it looks so cold.
Thank you very much, Ida. If you have a chance and a lot of warm clothing, you should really check it out. I always thought a beach in winter is kind of special. You will rarely find ice like this (depending on where you go), but it is still… the beach!
