If you feel like spreading the word about my Saturday Art Linkup, please grab my badge below:
Since this is a new link up I think I will leave my little explanation up in this post . There are actually three reasons behind my offering this opportunity to showcase your art a little.
- I love art, see and experience, fantasize and dream, live and create it
- For a long time I wanted to create my own link up. One that represents – me, in a creative sense, of course, = art
- A while back there used to be a photo art link up I participated in a few times, but Bonnie (Photo Art Friday) is taking an extended break
There are oh.so.many link ups out there on the web it is mind-boggling. You can get seriously lost in any number of them. While they can be a big time sucker they are also always a lot of fun. Behind each link up there usually is – at some point – a dedicated community. One that over time I am hoping to build with my link up, too. Please don’t be intimidated that I am calling this an art linky. Simply share some of your creations. Art is completely subjective. It takes courage and time to realize that you may actually call your own creations art. And if you believe they are pieces of art, I believe they are. They may be good or bad or great – who am I to say?! I’d rather like to think along these words from Andy Warhol:
“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
Having said that I want this link up to be open to all arts. Yes, my personal medium is photography and photo art, which is what you will be getting from me. But I do not want to put a limit on my art link up and thus it is open to all forms of (somewhat) visual art. I am saying somewhat, as it has to be able to be displayed in a digital way here on the website. That does include
photography
– yes, straight out of the camera is fine, too – as long as you think it is art –
photo art
– edited, enhanced, destroyed, composited – whatever – as long as you think it is art –
writing
– I don’t have the words to describe this one, but… – as long as you think it is art –
painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, design, crafts, video, graphic design… everything!
– as long as you think it is art – it is art – show it!

Well. That picture sure is on point for today in my world! LOL! Interesting juxtaposition though. Love it.
I know, right, Debbi?! This cold is not for me. It started snowing again a few hours ago and already all roads are white again – sigh – oh well, it is winter…
Congrats again on being our Friend Of The Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy!
I love your photo!
Isn’t it amazing how much our art is influenced by our locale?
Where I live, we experienced a touch of spring this week, so I pulled out a new stamp set and dreamed of spring gardens!
Have a lovely weekend and hope to see you at Inspire Me Monday (share your party there – I’m sure some of our kindred spirits would love to support you!)
Thank you again for making me part of your Friday party. And you are absolutely right – our art is always inspired, influenced by our surroundings, which unfortunately are a little on the cold side for me at the moment. I envy you for having signs of spring. I am sure it will be a while until it gets warmer around here.
Very interesting, I like this delicious forms of icicles on that exquisite sky!
I am missing that sky, but hope to be seeing it again very soon. As for the icicles – they make for nice photos, but otherwise… too cold for my taste.
that’s pretty cool. i’m certain all those affected by winter’s wrath can identify with that! 🙂
I am sure they do. And I am feeling bad for being a bit whiny about the cold, knowing that there are a lot of folks who have it even colder, but… I am just no winter person.
My world is filled with snow and icicles right now. Your image puts a beautiful, artful spin on my daily view!!
As is mine, well, we’re both in NJ, so no surprise there. But I’d really prefer to be winter over and done with…
Oh so cool!! and Hot. That’s it: the juxtaposition between the cool icicle and the hot sun on the horizon. Love that idea. well done.
Sorry I missed it — I had a digital scrap thing all lined up, but it turns out our WIFI at the hotel was not great. I’ll save it for next week I guess. 🙂
right now I am buried in children who missed me and laundry.
No worries, Leslie. There are more important things then a link up. A hotel? What hotel? Another weekend away? In any case there will always be a next time.
Love this one. The way the ice “melts” over the beautiful beach sunset/sunrise. I always remember too late that I want to link something up and then never have time. I’m hopeful I can get a bit creative once we have Spring break. Fingers crossed!
Hmmm, maybe I should send out invites, like others do for the WW… but I’d never want to bother anyone… I’m glad you’re still around. I was kinda getting worried since I had not seen you in a while. Don’t worry about my linky, it won’t go away. So, I’ll definitely keep my fingers crossed.
I used to be adamantly against photoshop.. I considered it “cheating” and not art.. then I kind of.. grew up. Or into my art, rather. Now I am a photoshop-aholic. lol – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
I sooooo know the feeling. Very well. I started out with Elements, which I got as part of my first digi cam. But then I got curious (happens a lot!). And I red and watched and listened and eventually just had to get Big Brother – Photoshop. Oh gosh – how I love it. The possibilities are just endless. Seriously endless. For the most part, until recently, I ‘only’ enhanced pictures realistically, anything else I did remained on my hard drive. But lately I am showing more and more of very obviously Photoshop art. It is a little bit like being set free. Definitely not like cheating. They are different art forms in mind.
That is so cool!
Thank you, Tamar (I’ve had enough of cold for a while…)
Beautiful:) Tam’s daughter is taking me or well “invited” me to see the ice sculptures in VT this weekend! We will find some beauty in that frigid world !
I bet you do or rather did, since I am so late in responding to your comment. How was it? I remember going to one of those ice sculpture exhibits in Switzerland – they are pretty awesome!
