Ice, ice – icy beach!

All I can say is: Ice, ice – icy beach – baby… Yep, even though our ice is gone. And the snow is gone, well, about 80 % of it, too. But, I took a little business trip down south to central Jersey on Wednesday. And on the way back I thought I would take a detour to one of my favorite places. The beach. Sandy Hook in specific. It was still very, very cold – during the day – and I wanted to see if parts of the bay were frozen.

Well, see for yourself – not part, but all of it was frozen. Every plant, rock and grass on the west side of Sandy Hook was covered in a coat of inches thick solid ice. So beautiful to look at. But also so very, very cold. Because the wind, which we love and which is why we go to Sandy Hook, was still blowing. Talk about windchill…
