“Every day may not be good… but there’s one good thing in every day!” ~ Alice Morse Earle
#onegoodthing
Not so long ago one of my longest online and blogging friends contacted me asking if I were interested in co-hosting a link up party with her. Of course I said ‘yes’! Because what is better than partying with a friend?!
I tell you what is better – partying with two friends. Plus getting to know their friends along the way. Because that is what happens when you party, ahem, take a link up party seriously. And you know that Germans can be very serious indeed.
Germans? Plural? Correct, because the initiator of the link up is Susi of Bocafrau. Susi is a German made American – her own words. But there is no need for me to tell you, just hop on over to Susi’s blog and check out what she has to say about #OneGoodThing. You can be sure there will be some neat photos, too, since this is her project 365.
Joining these two Germans is our friend from up north in Canada, Leslie aka RoryBore of Ink Interrupted. Most of the time you will find some pretty nifty writing on Leslie’s blog, however, she is also a photo ninja in training – you guessed it – her own words, so photos galore.
Unlike Susi, neither Leslie, nor I intend to do a photo project 365 this year, one photo each day is just not in my immediate future. But we do love to hang out with our friends on Instagram, which will be my main venue for this new link up. But it doesn’t have to be for you. Good things come in many forms – a photo, a collage, a poem, an anecdote, anything you want to share that was good that day, week, month is welcome for our link up, because we would love for you to party with us, too. Either every day (more or less…) on Instagram, just tag your photo #OneGoodThing or weekly on our websites.
[Tweet “Check out the new #linkup party #OneGoodThing every Monday with @RoryBore @Bocafrau”]
Are there rules? There are always rules, I told you we are 2/3 German, but really there aren’t any – yet, except for: Tag your Instagram photos with #OneGoodThing & Have fun! And if you are so inclined, do share and display our button to spread the word. Because, you know, there is always #onegoodthing every day.
And now, here is my selection of #OneGoodThing photos that I uploaded on Instagram over the course of the last couple of weeks. Going forward I will always be sharing photos from the previous week only. And just so you know, all of my photos on Instagram were shot (and edited) with my iPhone. Though that does not mean that yours have to be.
Have a look and then scroll down and you will find the link up. It will be open from Sunday night (EST) till Monday night (EST). So, what are you waiting for?! Link up! Now!

You’re right – one could never get tired of that view!! Especially with a sunset. Wow – the best thing about my day is going to be the great sunsets you and Suzi capture!! 🙂
So my bad part is my button woes continue. Ugh. I can only get the button itself to post, not the button with text box code. Blogger – give me onegoodthing!!!! LOL
My post has some of that rather serious writing you mentioned because something was deep in my heart today. But, I promise there will fun in the future too. So happy to have Lift Off!!! 🙂
And you were able to put that one thing into words and let it out – a very good thing, in my opinion. I am really, really not sure what to do about your button problem (hm, I guess that sounds a bit weird – oh well) 😀
I got the button to work with the code you gave me! It’s in the post all pretty now. 🙂 Thanks!
Yaaaaayyy! Finally – I almost started to doubt myself 😉
one good thing for today for all your readers and for you. share it, one orange is enough for a big group! P.
Oranges are great! I just hate peeling them, so I had a little one, a mandarin instead.
I love this #OneGoodThing link up! What a great idea! Great to follow along and see what everyone else is going to post! Thanks!!!
It sure is a good thing to spread a few reminders about being positive and all the small, but good things that easily get overlooked. Hope you’ll join us!
Those photos are a whole lotta good things…happy Monday Claudia!
And a happy Monday to you, Jenn! They weren’t all taken or created on the same day, but they were definitely good times. Thanks for joining in.
Oh My GOD I love this. Three of my favorites in one place. Best day ever. The shot of the NYC skyline is breathtaking.
Here is to a great week!
Hahaha – I guess we somehow had it coming. I mean Susi and Les are probably my oldest blogging friends – wow – feels good.
You have a great week, too, Tiffany!
Omg. That sunset panorama is phenomenal and makes me miss NY so much. I’ve been looking through my pics and I get such longing to come back… soon. I might have to persuade hubby to go for a weekend, just the two of us. Thanks so much for partying with Leslie and me! 🙂
You know, Susi, I have been on Top of the Rock, I will not say many times, but a few times. And really, no surprise, but it doesn’t always happen, no sunset is the same. This one was probably one of the best ones.
The panorama sunset image is my favorite! <3 – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
It sure was a nice sunset and I was lucky to be able to catch it with both my iPhone and my camera. I have only done one DSLR edit of it yet – actually there’s an idea, I think that may be my wordless Wednesday picture – Thanks, Gingi.
I hope to one day attend an art exhibit of your creations. I always feel connected to it. Seeing things through your lens or by way of your pallete is both inspiring and satisfying. Hug.
I am so happy that you feel that way, Annie. But I am afraid an exhibit is not quite in my league and future. But – who knows…
I certainly wish it for you, Claudia.
That would be very, very exciting!
Claudia, fabulous, beautiful shots! I, especially love the last two photos. That must be amazing to see the view from a NYC skyscraper! I get dizzy just thinking about it. 😀
I feel ya, Cathy. It took me two years, before I went up on Rockefeller Building. Heights are not for me, which why Top of the Rock is great, because you don’t (have to) look straight down.
Glad you mentioned this post because I totally did not get to see it!!! Love the pictures, especially the windows, thought the black and white skyline comes in a very close second.
Our biiiiig window. That’s my view when I’m working out 🙂 Sometimes we even see the squirrels from there 🙂
