4th week of November’s Art Every Day and also in NaBloPoMo

November 26th

Today is sARTurday and day #26 of AEDM and NaBloPoMo – did you all have a good Thanksgiving? Did you go wild, ahem, shopping yesterday on Black Friday?

My answer to question one is ‘yes’ and to no. two ‘nope’. Today would be a different story as it is Small Business Saturday, where local small businesses promote their brick and mortar shops, some with promotions, too. But I am not big on shopping, I prefer the cozy world of virtual business. Hence my store, which carries exclusive fine art pieces of mine, has just opened on ArtBoja.

Also, now that I have finished my photo series of the Pacific northwest with shots of mountains I need to find another – photo – subject for the remaining five days of November blogging month.

No photos for sARTurday today though. The other day I had this idea of trying to ‘manga-nize’ a photo of David, but then I saw the picture below from our vacation at the Outer Banks and thought I would try a manga style drawing of an ‘us-sie’ (= self-ie * 2). I started it on Thanksgiving as a sketch and inked and colored it yesterday.  Here is the original photo for your info, and please remember that manga is a very, very stylized drawing form.Cheers,

If I have time I will be linking with one or more of the fine people in this collection – check them out!

  1. Look at you guys!!! That is so awesome. I think that definitely needs to go in a frame. Ohhhhh!!! Can you imagine one of you guys windsurfing??!! That would look so cool. I’m so into this idea now …. your adventures told to us in manga style. 🙂

  2. I came back to add another thing to my previous post and see it’s not there. I fear my computer’s meltdown has somehow affected the way I can now leave comments. I wish I could remember all I wrote, but suffice it to say, I’m just trying to play catch-up after a computer meltdown.
