This week’s letter is ‘X’ for
~ X words ~
Finding X words is a challenge, X is a tough letter in our alphabet. And most certainly not one made for travel blogging, unless you have been to China, which I have not. There are also a few other places e.g. Xanten in Germany and some cities in Spain, Brazil, Laos to name a few. Unfortunately I have not been to any of them. So, what am I to do? I really want to write, but not just about Xyz. I don’t really like babbling along, so here is a quick brainstorm of my view on Xs:
Xterra – our car / surf and vacation mobile
eXport – my previous life’s career
eXcellent – (hopefully) my photography
eXtraordinaire – my husband
eXpress – doesn’t everybody seem to be in eXpress mode all the time?
Xing – a funny way of saying ‘cross-ing’ (pedXing/deerXing etc. – just try to say them pronouncing the X as an X and not as ‘cross’)
Xyz – this and that
eXplore – something everybody should do, at least at some time
X-files – mystery, scifi drama that I loved way back
eXtraterrestrial – something I believe eXists
eXistance – less than life / more than dead
eXample – be a good one or none
The list could go on and on, now that I think about it. But honestly I don’t want to strain my data plan on my cell phone too much. Our broadband internet connection is still down. Apparently our whole town is without cable. Probably a disaster for those having and loving tv. While we don’t have a tv, now, we also don’t have Netflix. But we have got a whole library of films on DVD and books. Until next time!

Crikey! You did an awesome job on X… or should I say eXcellent 😀
Loving the photos in this post, especially the one of the traffic and the one of the storm. It looks so eerie!
Thanks a lot, Vivid! I think I’ll work on the ‘storm’ one a little for FineArtFriday 🙂
You left out eXemplary…
Hope you get your internet back soon. Smooches
It would be eXemplary, eXtraordinairily great to get internet back, Debbi 🙂 – thanks!
Love all the x’s. such a fun post!
Thank you very much, Jen. That is actually what I had in mind, when I posted this one here with these photos – fun! Glad I succeeded.
yes, great looking photos! I’m always concerned about the end of the alphabet, because I don’t know many x or y words. The E helps a lot! {:-D
Hahaha – thank God for the ‘E’ in our alphabet, right, storybeader?!
eXcellent post, and great photos as always. The one you used for the e.t.’s is eXtraordinary!
Thanks, Jamie – it felt so eXtraterrestrial when I stood there looking at the full moon and clouds gathering around me 😉
When it comes to the letter “X,”you just do the best you can–and I think you did great! Here’s to easier letters than “X!”
You got that right, Wanda 😉 But from a travel blog point of view I am also not looking forward to the next letter…
X is not eXactly eXhilarating to write about! I’m with you on that!
Thank you for your reassurance, Anita.
That last picture is crazy cool!!!

Good eXpression for it :D, Jamie. It did feel really eerie when I stepped out of our house and looked up…
I’ve been reading that so many counties and cities are still without power, cable, water. The enormity of that storm is quite jaw dropping.
I can’t believe you came up with so many great X words in spite of natural disaster!
Be safe.
And thank you for linking.
A+
We, personally, had been so lucky this time around, however, more then two weeks later there are still people without power – unbelievable.
