Welcome to the weekend on my blog
This will be an almost wordless Friday post because 1) I want to do this post 2) it is already 7 am 3) I want to continue my painting before 4) I have to get dressed and go to work. 🙂 But I wanted to show you what I have been working on and to welcome you to my little world of whimsical.
But I’ll squeeze in my answers to the McGuffy’s Reader and  15andmeowing.com Friday Friendly Fill ins and also my latest little mixed media painting based on art and teachings by Willowing – Tamara Laporte and done in my sketchbook. In the end there are going to be three whimsical, very unrealistic girls with different shades of skin color in a wintery (brrrrh!) setting. Currently working on number two. So, stay tuned for more of these girls.
I hope you’ll enjoy.
- A book I would like to see made into a movie is The Atlantean Series by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I loved those books way back when along with her Darkover series.
- If I could afford a billboard, it would say:Â Live and enjoy your life – now!
- I have a hard time being around loud-mouthed, know it all kind of people.
- I really enjoy a weekend away with my hubby (hint: One is coming up right now!).Â
Cheers,
If I have time I will be linking with one or more of the fine people in this collection – check them out!
A mixed media ‘winter girl’ painting
done in my sketchbook with … lots of things
Amazing as always!
Claudia, this is beautiful. She reminded me of The Snow Queen story of my childhood. That was one of my favourite stories and still is. Thank you for this. You are truly gifted, and your art is a gift to all who see it. I agree with you about loud-mouthed people who “know what’s best”. They make me weary. Usually, they have no idea of reality. Of course, your billboard is good, too! So, enjoy that time with hubby! HUGS!
I love her! The colors and the dog and kitty! Well done! Enjoy the weekend. Hopefully a sunny warm one for you!
Your art is beautiful. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I don’t like being near know-it-alls either. Have a fantastic weekend!
Love it so much. The colors. The subjects. All of it.
Those images are beautiful! You are so talented. I love the colors that you used together, a great combination.
I agree with your #3! I don’t like being around folks like that either. It is very frustrating and annoying.
I hope that you have a great weekend away with your husband. What fun!
Have a blessed day. 🙂
You have a great style in your art. I, too, hate loudmouthed know-it-all people. The trouble is, I am one and it is very difficult to keep from being that person when you have lived like that for a long time. Have a great weekend.
Just love your work, Claudia.
such a lovely page Claudia!
Love it! The dog and cat give it extra something. 🙂
Oh this is such a pretty girl! I love it how you did the coloring, especially the face. And all the embellishment around. Such an amazing page!
Oh she is so well illustrated ~ very colorful and magical ~ beautiful ~ thanks,
Wishing you a great week ahead ~ ^_^
Oh she’s lovely! The colors that you used are beautiful.
love your little winter girl.
This is wonderful. This style suits you VERY well. Beautiful eyes and wonderful blending of colors.
Claudia, fabulously beautiful! I’d love to create a whimsical girl like you did. In one photo you have what looks like crayons, but is that what they are or are these oil pastels? I am eager to begin experimenting with watercolor pencils and layering colors with colored pencils. I watched a video last week of a guy who drew a realistic apple and I want to try that project ASAP. I’m excited to get started soon. I have so much to learn. Your work is really inspirational!
